The Passion of Dreams

It was 10 years ago when I was on my way back to pulau perhentian..while waiting for the boat to arrive ,my family and I managed to saw large container ship belong to Malaysian Internation Shipping Company cruising through the ocean..even the ship was very far away from us but we still can see it clearly ..which probably due to the size of ship..Then my dad told us..."I wish I could have my son working in that ship.Just think how they could build such a big ship without sinking to the surface. Its all about engineering"...We all then laughing and pointing towards each other ..Well its been 10 years and now Im doing Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering sponsored by MISC BERHAD at University of London. From the ship stability to powering of the ship,I learned so many things within first year of my degree course..At first everthing seemed to be totally impossible since I had difficulty in understanding language but now I become more curious to know about how do they design the ship and start to get used myself to a new life.Life have never been easy....There are lots of stuff that you would have to understand and the most important thing for sure there is no such perfect method to design a ship..Each different method leads to a different result which can be considered in terms of safety, efficiency, low fuel consumption and high thrust possible with very small resistance. So many forces acting on the ship and fluid mechanics will become such an important tools for marine engineers.Im aware of the fact that Im not genius and sometimes I feel that I do not deserve all these award..But life have to go on.My dad used to tell me..Once you have started your journey ,you have to finish it for what ever it takes.Just remember that your personal dream may not be to effect sweeping change in the world. But we all need a dream that defines us. Your dream may be to become a fantastic father, an exceptional teacher, or a selfless role model. Those dreams are magnificent in their own right. Only when we have such a dream — and when the dream possesses us — will we truly find our way in the world.
